What kind of stem are you running? Size and angle. I ride a 56cm and am planning on doing a 120mm -17*, with SL88 Zipp bars and cutting the steerer tube all the way through. I am a little concerned that it will be too aggressive for me.

Zipp Service Course SL, 120mm -17* and SWorks Aerofly zero-rise handlebar. Keep in mind the Sprints have a 1cm shorter HT than the regular Allez DSW and Tarmac geometry. I'd plan on running 1 or 2cm spacers to start, if you're not used to such a low front end. You can always slam the stem once you're used to it.
Thanks! |
apologies for no white garage door etc, literally just got it from shop so its 5 minutes old. Will post proper pic when I get chance. Love it so far

https://scontent.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0...ac&oe=598E815A What's the full story on this bike? Looks like right side has a SRAM brifter and left side DT shifter. The fork is straight and a threadless steering tube. Is the seat post CF and what stem is that? And BTW, very hot. |

And BTW, very hot. I specifically asked for this setup with a cable stop on the right and a shifter boss on the left. On the downtube is a Campagnolo Syncro shifter with a carbon lever made by BTP mounted with a Syntace titanium bolt. The brakelever came from the "Campagnolo TT" range and is basically an 10sp Ergopower without the shifting mechanism. When Ergo/STI shifters first started appearing in the Pro peloton it was often seen that some riders would have the front ring changer on the down tube especially for mountain stages in order to save weight. I first started to use this combination in 1997 and continued to use it on various bikes since. The stem is custom steel made to my specifications (Ø 1” ; 105mm ; 6º) by Bart Veuger at WINDcycleworks specifically to match the slim steel tubes of the frame and to clamp directly on a 1" headtube 26mm handlebars. https://scontent.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0...b2&oe=59BF7EFE http://www.pedalroom.com/p/1993-merl...ht-19527_5.jpg |

Preemptive apologies for the potato quality photo. Columbus XCR Firefly https://www.pedalroom.com/p/firefly-...m-33046_27.jpg The rose colored bits up front are interesting, but seem sort of misplaced, especially with the white-splashed shifters and crank that look like they belong on a plastic bike. Seems like a nice bike one would be very happy to own, but it's not hot. |

What tires are those? The sidewalls look orange on my computer, not the tan you would expect from gumwalls.

If he's referring to the tires on the white Allez, they're Spec Turbo Cottons, 26mm - I've noticed they yellow over time more than any of the other gumwall tires I've owned (Challenge, Vittoria).
