Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

White tape/saddle combo is nice, but at least clean it before you take a pic.

Checkered fork is out of place.. polka dots would have been nicer... or you can just match the bar tape with checkered pattern.

Line up that drive side crankarm along the seattube or chainstay.. out of alignment crankarm doesn't make good pic.
Chains don't actually stretch.

Chains don't stretch... they wear. They get longer due to the pivots wear and tolerances increase. When you multiply that by 104 links, it adds up and the chain gets longer.

Post some links that explain stretching a derailleur. If you can't explain it then I can't worry about it.

As to chain stretch / wear... if cross chaining causes my chain to wear a little faster, in the grand scheme of things, replacing a $30 chain in 5 months instead of 7 doesn't really make the least difference to me. At least I'm out riding and using the bike rather than just looking at or talking about the thing

Cross chaining does cause cogs/chainrings/jockey wheels to wear more rapidly, but I don't worry about the wear rate of those parts either.

You call it wear, I call it stretch.. Whatever you call it, spaces between chain links expand..

I call it wear, because that's what it is.

We are still waiting to hear about this "derailleur stretch" you mentioned.

Like I said: ride more and you will experience it... especially in the big-big combo gearing.

If you don't know something, get to know yourself, do your own research.

12,000-14,000 miles per year( every year since 2003) is all I have the time for.

Actually, this isn't supposed to be about judging the photo and setup(there's a thread for that https://www.bikeforums.net/road-cycli...ot-thread.html )
