Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

TCR Advanced: https://www.giant-bicycles.com/en-us/...o/11489/55795/

Cost was $65/day at this shop for this bike. Try rentabike.com and velolet.com.

You guys can give me your worst, I won't be upset.

I still have to cut the steerer, but haven't ridden it enough to decide on stem position yet.

Funny thing is I've been riding on my heavy PT wheel and throwing whatever front wheel on there for a while so I noticed the air was way low on these tires.

I hear you on the stickers, but it makes them a pain to sell them.

I ride on heavy 32 spoke wheels (powertap) most of the time so I'll probably end up selling them sooner rather than later.

I'm looking for something negative to say, but the stickers are about it for me too. I've never really liked the looks of these BMC machines, but this one has some potential. You can always find some aftermarket decals to put back on if you need to.

not really, since just about everyone hates those ****ing things, and the reynolds stickers by the valve hole can stay.

I guess I'm in the minority here but I think that particular Reynolds decal would look pretty cool when it's spinning along at high speed. I hope the cycling industry doesn't stay with the all-black stealth look for too much longer.

+1

I have the Assaults on my bike and I like the decals. I guess I am in the minority.

Damned if those aren't a nice group of bikes. I didn't see a chilly one in the bunch... so I give them all a HOT rating!

Now, one couldn't give me a wheel with no-cross radial spoke-age, but I don't hold that against a bike under review. Fashion is fleeting. Like short-shorts on a 45 year old lady...not my cup of tea, but its easy enough to fix if all else is good to go!

Here's my main bike as it sits today. Slightly updated from the last time I posted it.

Taken in my garage due to rain, and with my Galaxy S4. So angle was a bit limited.

The TCR is a nice, aggressive looking bike. I'm voting it hot, even though the orange tape implies it is only meant to be ridden around Halloween...plus extra points for the November wheelset

Orange tape for team colors. It's old and needs to be replaced. Not sure if I want to go back to black or get new orange tape.

If anything, I would take off the sticker that's across from the Reynolds logo (whatever that says). And only leave one, so it would look a little simple and less cluttered.

I also have never been a huge BMC fan. Have heard great things about them, but they're just "meh" for me. Not ugly, but doesn't call my attention. Although the new TMR01 is spectacular.

Leaving a sticker on one side would be even worse, it would look so lopsided.

That TCR pic almost looks like the bar tape is a nice, worn leather. Maybe you should go with leather or leather-look tape? I kinda like it.
