Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Rodriguez custom steel from the eighties. (The stem is temporary)

IthaDan, is the falls shot Fall Creek, behind the high school? Doesn't look quite right for that spot, so I am trying to place it.

Yup. the saddle works best when tilted up 1-2 degrees. Specialized even says so. Its in the dead center of the seatpost, but I can see how it looks that way. I agree though, Would look hotter if I were able to have it back a little further. I have thought about trying out an S works Toupe saddle. They definitely look better than the romin evo.

That's the one. I was practically standing in the water for that. (Didn't want to wait for the tourists to take their photos right in front of the falls.)

Then they left. Here's the more traditional angle:

And for the record, I know this bike has no place in here, but I couldn't think of a more subtle way to spread the word that BD is selling sub-$1k fatbikes now.

The lack of rocks in the pic threw me, as the stream looked too wide. My brother got married on the rocks in your 2nd photo, in the middle of winter.

And I am hoping to plop a pic of my single speed in this thread later this week, based on londonfog's excellent reception. Just waiting on a few parts to arrive.

I don't think so. Specialized recommends the middle third of the saddle be level. After that, some minor tilt may be necessary for comfort but the back of the saddle is intended to flare up. Yours is basically level with the front.

they actually say to level out the rails....which levels the middle third of the saddle....when set up correctly, it almost gives the appearance of being nose-down....

ok. Maybe I'll give that a shot. I've been playing with position the last couple weeks. Though, with my experience with the romin evo, it has always been more comfortable with nose just slightly up. I know a lot of others who have also said the same thing. At the end of the day, this is the hot R Not though so I get your point.

(Not used to being on this side of the table , me no likey! Maybe I should throw a tantrum and take down ALL my pictures!!! lol)

Thanks for the kind words. Frank builds really great frames. I explained what I wanted and sent him a geo (basically a short wheel based crit bike that took its styling cues from a 1993 C'Dale Track). After a few wise suggestions from Frank my frame showed up at my door to which I built it up.

Again, thanks for the nice reception on my bike.

i just got a new specialized saddle and it said right on the packaging the middle 3rd should be level. between the shape/make of the saddle itself, and the position, my rear and taint have definitely felt the relief!

They recommend to start with the middle level and then adjust from there based on comfort. I had the same saddle and found it worked best 1-2* tip up from a level middle section.

I do believe I said not hot.....I still say not hot. I was not applying my opinion to the quality of the photo. It is a nice bike, but I do not find its aesthetics hot. Would you like me to clarify anything else for you?

I think B10 was just trying to clarify that the pic you were commenting on was photo shopped by him.

Whats with the 12 year old attitude? Yeah, I needed clarification because you quoted and voted on a picture of a bike that was 50% Edited. I was wanting to know why you were giving a vote towards a photo that wasn't even the bike, but yet a visual suggestion.

Deflate your chest a bit and simmer the F down

Sorry, I have had a very stressful night with my kids and work, then to sign on and the first thing I read is that childish crap. I'm thinking it might be best for me to pack it up and visit again tomorrow while I'm rational. Was hoping to lose myself online to decompress a bit, but I'm thinking the safest thing for me would be to log out for the night.
