Cheap sunglasses
Yesterday in the last 15 miles of the Nyack ride, somebody dropped their Oakleys, which shattered beneath the pace line wheels. Well, not Oakleys, but cheap sunglasses, like the $50 Tifosi shades I wear. I pull up next to the guy who dropped them and asked if he was going back for them. This dude Dario says 'Nah, that's why I buy cheap glasses, those cost me $25'.
We shared a fist bump @ 25mph. It was EXCELLENT. I have a few pair of the Tifosi Slip. They ROCK. http://www.edwinwattsgolf.com/wcssto...ct/14301-3.jpg |

The ones I'm wearing here are $15 from Sheetz's convenience store/gas station:

I like the 'Joe's Bike Shop' logo on the jersey more.

We have a local bike shop here called 'Joe Fix Its'. They sell high end bikes.
The poignant irony of that name was made clear to me when a Dura Ace chain they had installed came apart 8 miles into the first ride. Needless to say I get my bike repairs done elsewhere. Now you know why my 'local' bike shop is Piermont Bicycle Connection, 40 miles from here. |

Any PBK brand sunglasses are a good deal. I have a couple of pair. Twenty some odd dollars with a full set of lenses and case. Also have a pair of $30ish Bolle's from Nashbar which are my favorite. No need to spend money for M frames. I actually get M frames for free at work and don't like them. The lenses are too big for me.

tifosi makes some real nice sunglasses for the price point. that being said, i dont seem to have issues with misplacing my shades or breaking them. later.

Tifosi Pave, have several of them.

It figures. Motobecane ..... cheap sunglasses.
The BEST riders use Doggles.... http://img293.imageshack.us/img293/8963/hpim6844gv9.jpg |
^ Where do I get those?
|
A friend of mine gave me a couple pairs of cool safety glasses from his work. They're polarized and sporty looking, and free
|
That's why I have a pair of Oakley Xmetal Juliets...even if they get ran over they'll be a ok :).
|

I get my eye wear from Lowes or Home Depot. For $20, their safety glasses work fine ... and are shatter resistant. I have a pair of clear lenses for gray days, and a pair with tinted lenses for sunny days. They actually have some pretty good looking styles too ... and at twenty bucks, they're disposable.:D

I've had perscription sun glasses made before so I could read the HRM and odometer and still see down the road. This spring I picked up a pair of wrap around sunglasses for $15 in a Gander Mountain Store, that were made for fishermen. They have little square inserts on the lenses, for vision correction, that help me see the displays or make bike repairs and still let me look pretty cool from distances greater that 5 feet (inside of 5' I probably look more look fredish with the 1/2" squares on the lenses).

PCAD you paid too much in back taxes or what? Looking for bargains or saving $ for cycling is not typical of you. I thought you had a stash of Maui Jims, Revos and Oakleys lying all over your office and car.
As long as it is polarized. A must here in the high desert. Are those Tifosi's polarized. If not the Big Five Sports store has been selling polarized Bolle's for a year noe. 30 bucks ain't that bad. I do use Maui Jims but have 2-3 Bolle's lying around. |
tifosi dolomites FTW

If you never dropped your glasses in a ride or race you're not riding hard enough.
