Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

You should really just call it a day on this thread. Bumping it only allows more people to view this foolishness.

I've been seen riding my S-Works (with 404s on at the time of sighting) in a T-shirt, jeans, and CROCS.

Mind you this was after riding two races and changing out to ride to lunch with the fams.

Yeah, they're a NorCal racing scene thing.

Interesting comment. My girl and I showed up for registration at a DOUBLE CENTURY. She was in a summer dress and heels, The exchange between the organizer and her went as follows:

Organizer (checking us in) "So what are you going to do tomorrow while your bf is riding-- go shopping?"

Her reaction "I'm riding the double my name is ______ . "

Her finishing time (Total Time) 12:01 with 10,000 of climbing to boot.

I assure you she does not look like a hardcore cyclist.

Here's the bottom line about the chick in the flip flops. If she is hot, it doesn't matter.
Flip flops on a Cervelo is the new reverse chic.
BTW...an anecdotal sidebar. Did you guys hear about the little girl that alledgedly sang in the opening ceremony of the Olympics? The Chinese are the nouveau OCP on the planet. Talk about syncronicity and automatons...Jesus. The girl on camera was lip sinking because the girl who was singing wasn't hot enough. Unreal.

You'd think that you could put two and two together and think she might just be out for a casual ride and that she might race or ride seriously at other times instead of jumping to the conclusion that she just dropped $4K on a nice bike because she didn't know better. Most people in this area who are of the beach cruiser set wouldn't just walk in and buy a Cervelo. Damn, the more I ponder this thread, the more stupid I realize it is. No appreciation for it? My god. The leaps you just took and assumptions you just made were ridiculous.

Just for that, tell me where you are going to be today, so I can ride one of my bikes there...in flip flops.
oh you're the girl i keep seeing at the pier with your bikini, PT and roadbike.

Hold on there kemosabe....I happen to know that Nick still enjoys dropping fat guys on Cervelos. nyuknyuk. Of course, that doesn't mean he's judged them, just enjoys dropping them.
