Signed up for first race ... now what?
I signed up for my first Cat 5 road race at the Hotter than Hell in Wichita Falls. I was wondering what to expect. Should I ride with the large pack. Try to grab a break-away (will there even be a break-away). Which jersey should I wear (just kidding)? Any suggestions on dealing with your first race would be appreciated.

Throw the stick!!!!
For the jersey wear a plain jersey with no team names or advertisements on it (unless you are on a team). For the race try to stay in the main group and towards the front. If you are feeling good and there is a break away then go for it. The first race is for experience anyway, learn as much as you can and have a good time.

if there's a break, let it go, let it get caught. THEN go (hopefully towards the end of the race)
i don't race, i just watch them on tv.. but this is what i'd do if i wanted to win (if your sprint sucks, then you'll have to win in a break)
best of luck!
