It's only worth watching if Logan Tom is playing. She's also on the indoor team.

I gave up watching when they showed the shower cam after the platform diving. There is no sporting purpose to watch the girls (or men) shower after getting out of the pool.

For the lucky few with real TiVo in your household, i think you are pretty much in command of what you want to watch, when you want to watch, with no commercial to boot. Best of it all, that "slow motion" button is your best friend when watching diving or even beach volleyball .
With all the coverage on NBC, USA, Universal HD, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, Univision, Olympics Soccer (new for Olympics only), Olympics Basketball (also new for Olympics only), I gtt them all on my TiVos so I can watch 80 hours of commercial-filled Olympics in about 5 hours commercial free, picking and choosing the stuff I want to watch. So, yes, even Kayaking and rowing and badminton.

BTW, indoor vball and beach vball are two completely different animals. the only things they share in common are they are both played with a ball and a net in the middle. that's about it.

True, she's not on the Olympic beach team, but she does compete. I find indoor way more exciting to watch. The rallies on the sand are way too short.

I gotta admit, if beach volleyball consisted of a single game (rather than the 2-3 game match) I'd be way more tolerant of it. Something about "Yay, we won...now we have to do it all over again" really takes the enjoyment out of it for me.

Thus far I have failed to see (from the pictures) what is wrong with women's beach volleyball.

I wholly agree. It and synchronized swimming are making me an unhappy viewer. But then again, w/o beach volleyball, NBC wouldn't have this URL: https://www.nbcolympics.com/beachvoll...id=122861.html

It's interesting watching with my wife. I make sure to throw in the occasional "did you see that spike, they're killing 'em" or "c'mon Walsh, you can't miss that block" just to show that I'm in it for the sporting aspects

What? You want more synchronized diving? Jeesh. It's bad enough to watch women's synchronized diving for like three nights in a row, but the mens, that's just weird. Feels like we are intruding on their rubbing suntan oil on each other. (not that there's anything wrong with being gay).
I can't take one more day of diving.

I try not to mention them by name - maintaining that little bit of disinterest is crucial

Honestly, the entire Summer Olympics could consist of beach volleyball, cycling and the 100m dash, and I'd be perfectly happy.

I can't believe you guys are complaining. The matches only take about 30-40 min and the women are great athletes. Today's game against Belgium was really exciting in the first set. Carrie & Misty are fun to watch, they are great representatives of the US, and (of course) they're hot.
