Personal Protection when Riding

I know some people have mentioned they carry pepper spray/stun guns or whatever when they ride just for some added safety. I am curious if anyone mounts anything on their bikes, such as a stun baton or anything. If you do, I would love to see pictures, so i can get some ideas of what to get and where I can put it.

I suppose the alternative is the pocket on a nice jersey, but the bike is a nice place to keep the pockets free.

Use your head, nothing to do with above post.

I'm curious... Can everyone who posts here say from what country/area they are from.

The idea of carrying a lethal weapon while riding a bicycle is, just... wow. Do you carry that kind of "protection" normally as well?

Personnally, I always bring my fists, as well as the rest of my body. But that's just me, so..

Can of saurkraut eaten 1 hour before riding.

I am from Indiana. I can carry a handgun concealed (with permit) anywhere I want to with a few excpetions, like school and the court house and other private places that prohibit carry. I have not carried for several years becasue I work for a couple of universities that would fire me on the spot for having a handgun on the property. Sides I would perfer to run first.

Why not? Every driver is behind the wheel of a lethal weapon. A flick of the wrist and you're toast.

A Kel-Tec .32 or .380 in an Uncle Mike's nylon IWB, carried on the strong side underneath your outermost jersey pocket, is a good choice. A couple of Power Bars in the pocket will prevent print-through. If you just must wear bibs, you can try the Uncle Mike's pocket holster in a jersey pocket, but that's an obvious compromise...

I race with a nickel-plated .357 mounted on top of my helmet. Works ok.

Ma Duece strapped to the handle bars.

I've experimented with various rifle scabbards on my bikes. This was about the best one:

You should upgrade to a Minigun.

I used to just wear a cut off t shirt riding, but I was pulled over and charged with not having a permit for my guns.

A cell phone is a powerful weapon. Make like you're calling the police or phoning in a license plate number and they will flee. I've used this tactic a number of times in road rage confrontations with drivers. A fake badge in a wallet works really well too.

The kid is right, just get an AK.

Fake phone call and a fake badge. Brilliant.

I watched a lot of Kung Fu episodes when I was a kid so I am prepared.

OK no fake stuff, just shoot em, screw it.

Don't listen to these jokers Sommy. I'm glad there are people like you and me in this world. People who KNOW that there are folks out there who are out to get us - hey, even paranoids have enemies, right? People like you and me, due to our incredible small genitalia, need to compensate in some way. Plus, just between you and me, we both would really love to have the opportunity to shoot some people. I know, I know, in order not to agitate John Q. Citizen, we are forced to use phrases like "protecting my family" and "it's in the constitution" - but hey, as long as we eventually get to kill somebody it will all be worth it. AM I RIGHT BROTHER!!?

Hey - Obama for President, right? ;)

Funny - I've never heard the inner-city gang-bangers and drug dealers (who actually do most of the killing) say an such thing...
