PBK - Packages Arrive out of order?

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

PBK - Packages Arrive out of order?

Anyone order stuff from PBK, and have something take a LONG time to arrive? Ordered some tired a few weeks ago, they shippined about 10 days ago, still haven't showed up. Ordered some shirts last week when they had the extra 5% off, order shipped on Thursday and shows up today. Still wondering where my tires are

I have a delivery from my overseas factory that has been in customs for "inspection" for 15 days.

I've got orders to ship, and no product.

No rhyme, no reason, and no accountability. It's just one of those things. They'll get here, eventually.

There's no rush, as they're for a project bike. Just thought it was weird, ordered late last week, stuff appears lightning fast. My tires from 2 weeks back, still MIA.

Does PBK give u the option of air/ground? Ground, if may take up to a week to go x-country. After 14 days, I'd shoot an email to them. Sometimes the system messed up and sum punk in the warehouse may had ticked SHIPPED when it wasn't, it only takes a wandering mouse.

As far as out of order... I hope the world doesn't function linearly 'coz that would be most inefficient. Lots of businesses ship stuff the most efficient way based on many factors, so unless they promised u they were going to ship a certain way... U can get a degree on the subject, Transportation&Logistics.

Where are you?

I'd say it is strange if you are in the US. If you are in Canada, then you might have things stuck in customs.

ground will actually take a bit longer if he lives anywhere other than the UK...especially if he is in the U.S. Do you know how long it would take to build a land bridge from the UK to the U.S?

Their website does say to give up to 29 days. Maybe the U.S. customs is having a bad couple of days. When I ordered stuff from them it came faster than it would from some places in the U.S. Or check the news, maybe the plane carrying the mail crashed

I ordered some simple valve extenders which did not show up, I emailed them and was told to wait 28 business days. After 2 months of waiting I asked and got a refund.

Don't know if you've ordered anything from Newegg, but it spoiled me...order stuff with cheapest ground shipping and 90% of the time itd be there next day. I just got tires from PBK, ordered on a Wed and got the next week on Thurs - not great, but good price.

In the Dallas area, everything ships by airmail in the blue bags if i'm not mistaken. I'll wait the 28 days and then will bug them. I just found it strange that 2 packages shipped the same way would take such different amounts of time.

Some items get hung up in customs most things just sail right through.

I've ordered from PBK dozens of times without an shipping ever taking longer than 2 weeks. It's likely in customs or there was a mix-up. Probably worth an email.

I'll shoot them some mail, I also noticed something interesting, different packages may end up at different ports/customs authorities. My latest package says "Dallas" but another one I had lying around said "New York" on it. I can't remember how long that one took to get here, but it does seem like it may take longer if it went through a busier/backed up customs office.

It happens. I'm still waiting for my tires... they shipped last week but still aren't here yet. Probably a backup at customs because they're bombarded by PBK packages after the 15% off sale...

If their website says 29 days... aren't we beating a dead horse?

And if prob is customs as lots of ppl suspect, what they gonna do? bribe the customs guys? Security = Customs <> Service.

Yeah, there isn't much, as I don't suppose there's tracking on international mail. I was just curious if anyone else ever had their stuff take a LONG time. Almost definitely not PBK's fault, as i've ordered from them countless times with no issues.

There is tracking, but it's not free. I've ordered stuff occasionally from Chain Reaction Cycles in the UK, and they provide a tracking number. However, there is a flat fee for shipping of 10 GBP. It's also not unusual for parcels to arrive out of order.

This WHOLE thread is about that.

Again, the thread pretty much says that.

lol, We're all spoiled by the age of UPS and Fedex. Remember when everything you order used to take "4-6 weeks for delivery"?

The only problem is that I'm waiting for a new set of tires to repair my road bike... and thus no road riding for me until I get my tires. These old tires are just flatting too much!

Well the missing packages showed up today. Probably customs. Oddly they also had Dallas written on the labels, so most likely went through the same customs office as my last order. Odd, but in any case, just happy my stuff finally got here.

Now if only PBK could replenish some of their stock
