I finally found a bike!

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I finally found a bike!

I've been on a mission to find a good, flat bar road bike. I currently have a '98 cannondale slice, but a back injury prevents me from riding drops. I've taken every flat bar available between Portland and Eugene, OR (ok, not from every store, but close) for a test. Unfortunately, I started shopping at the end of the '08s. I had my mind set on the Trek FX 7.6 - but those won't be available until Dec. So, when I was picking up my hubby's old Specialized from getting tuned, I took the Gary Fisher Mendota out for a spin. It was love at first pedal, so I walked out with it Hubby wants to go rock climbing this weekend - I think I'll let him have his fun while I hit the roads. A year of no riding has been to long!
