Wanna Know what sucks

Soooooo, if you read any of my past posting, me and a local area railroad track was in a fight, and the railroad track won. I had some severe wrist problems so I went to the doctor. They took x rays and all and to their "trained eye" was all clear. So they called me and told me they sent my pics to a ortho sports doctor, and I have 3 fractures, 2 of which are hairline, and one I can't put any latteral weight on (meaning I can't ride or it will break further. SO 6 weeks of no riding, f that............. its Oregon, I only have like 4 weeks left!!!!!!!!!!!!!

nebrider 08-28-08 09:56 PM

master riding with one hand

wearerad 08-28-08 09:59 PM

It was cool when i was 12 to ride with one hand, but I did not ride for 50 miles or more per day either, I would look like and idit with my hand in the air! Wait, my wife already thinks I am an idiot, I am going riding! I will look like i am waving all the time!

nebrider 08-28-08 10:02 PM

its a win-win situation

They put you in a cast ? I am recovering from a radial head fracture ( I'm about 5 weeks since surgery ) and i was complaining about my hand to the doc on monday and he took some X-Rays and i have a fracture of the hamite bone in my hand :) Which bones did you break specifically ?

That is a drag, didn't you just move here too?

Guess we should have warned you about the tracks.

Chucklehead 08-28-08 10:44 PM

You can fix anything with duct tape.

a find a sandwich hard to fix with duct tape, everything else though...it's golden

kudude 08-29-08 12:01 AM

not to sound like and idiot, but are aerobars a solution? that and riding with one hand around stoplights.

It's trainer time, my man.

Wouldn't aero-bars (tri-bars) solve the OP's issue? It puts pressure on the forearm rather than the wrists.

sharkey00 08-29-08 12:31 AM

I live in Seattle. You can ride year round. HTFU

spry 08-29-08 01:48 AM

You call yourself an Oregonian? HTFU!
Prefountain of Oregon U. would kick you in the nutz.
Duct tape an old meat hook to the cast and hit the road.
Whatever you do,don't forget and scratch yourself down there in the morning.

wearerad 08-29-08 05:40 PM

no doubt, they suck, yeah, i just moved here, 3 months!

wearerad 08-29-08 05:47 PM

i don't call myself an oregonian, well yet, i am a north carolinian, and what is htfu or what ever?

And you call yourself a cyclist? :)

uke 08-29-08 05:54 PM

I've got some kind of wrist strain here too. Haven't seen a doctor about it. Basically my wrist is normal when I hold it straight, but whenever I twist it, it hurts. And I can't put upper body weight on it, like when bracing an arm on the ground and reaching for a pencil or something. I'm not sure if it's a pinched nerve or what. But it doesn't keep me from riding, so I'll keep on riding.

Don't do more damage than you already have... let your body heal instead of making a problem worse.

+1 truth! Wrist injuries are a betch, and problematic to heal.

$400?!

Tri bars can be attached to your handlebars for under $100:
