De Marchi clothes sizing

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

De Marchi clothes sizing

Usually Italian brand cycle clothing comes up small and you have to order a size bigger than normal eg Castelli. Am I wrong, but with De Marchi is almost the opposite the case?

You have it backwards: US companies like Pearl Izumi run large, while DeMarchi's sizing is perfectly accurate. In other words, I have a 31" waist, and my four pair of DeMarchi bibs in size M (28"-31") fit perfectly, a bit loose even. Ditto for their jerseys.

In other words, trust their sizing chart.

Agreed, their sizing chart is pretty accurate. I have a 32" waist and own a pair of large and a pair of medium DeMarchi bibs. The M fits well at the waist but the shoulder straps are very snug (I'm 6'1). They could use another half inch at the straps, but they're still my favorite pair of bibs. The L is a little big at the waist, but still OK, and is comfy in terms of length.

Their tops, on the other hand, are cut awesomely for folks on the taller end. The medium LS jerseys are the best fit I have ever found. Trim at the belly, but still adequately long at the sleeves.

I think some of the newer DeMarchi stuff runs very big. Maybe they are adjusting their sizing for the USA market.
