Performance tight sizing?

I've been digging around for a day or so looking to get a set of low end padded tights, and get conflicting information on sizes for the Performance Century tights. Some people say they're too big, others say they're too small, and, of course, a nice big group says true to size. I wear a size 31 pant, and have a set of small LG shorts that fit pretty well.

On the Performance site they show that 28-30 is small, and 32-34 is medium. What size would anyone recommend for a 31 waist for these particular shorts??

Also, does anyone have any experience with these? Temperature they're made for, chamois comfort for either gel or Coolmax, getting them on without ankle zips, etc?

Why not break down any buy from the small local retailer in your area?

Go with a medium. I wear size 32 pants, but these seem to be just a little bit wide. I bought the medium size Century shorts, and they fit just fine.

I am a size 32 waist. I have a medium sized pair of Performance Century tights, but they are my least favorite to wear. They feel like they are made for a lot bigger guy. My son has a pair of small sized of the same kind and I think I could wear them. I do prefer my Trek Criterion shorts. Try looking for sales right about now since the Summer season is winding down. I got my Trek shorts on sale for $30 a couple years ago. You might find a really good deal if you look for it.

Waists on performance tites are true to size. Unfortunately, the LEGS are on the small side and can be considered one size down from the label sizing.

32 waist, get the M. Or better yet, just buy a pair of Pearl Izumi's in small and be happier. Cost is about the same and the PI's will last longer.
