My new bike is born...
Just had to show you guys and say thanks to everyone. I've really been bitten by the cycling bug and have gotten a lot of great info from this site. So I finally got my Felt together and I am so excited. Now all I need to do is wait for the weather to clear so I can take it out and test ride it. Or wait until my girlfriend wakes up so I can try it out on the rollers. Patience is not one of my strong points. Anyway heres a couple of pics of it along with Putter who helped me put it all together. Let me know what you think.

My fiancee just leaned over as I was examining the bike and remarked 'Oh! Cute!'
(about the dog) You could use yellow electrical tape to finish off your bar tape - to continue the subtle yellow highlights theme. Looks hot!! (the bike, I mean, not the dog) |
+1 on the yellow tape. Subtle yellow tires would be sweet too...SUBTLE yellow as in striped black and yellow.
Sweet ride! |
Wait... was the subject of this thread previously 'My new bike is porn' or did I misread that...?
Yellow tires might be a bit too yellow for this setup... Unless you found something really subtle (Pro2Races, for example, are very very yellow even though they're striped) And get some black pedals!! |
Is that dog humping a stuffed animal?
|
I'm not crazy about the upholstery on the couch, but the floor look very nice. Is that an aussie shepherd mix?
|
Beautiful bike! You'll look good on it as long as you're not riding with those work boots on.
|
Damn, so far it is like queer eye for the straight guy! Get out an ride the damn thing already!
|
I recommend you find a way to block that view of the house next door to you. It's unsettling to have someone being able to look down through an open window at you. I'm thinking ivy terrace.
|
I like the bike better than the couch, but not as much as the dog.
The bike looks great! Just one observation though: your bars are rotated in a way that your drops will be very difficult to use. Was that position necessitated by fit, or could you gradually rotate your bars down a bit? |

Just kiddding--nice bike. Ride the hell out of it! |
Dog savages stuffed animal. Moments later jumps on his bike and escapes.

Thanks for the comments...
On the bike that is :) And the dog. Yeah Putter loves his stuffed animal. When he plays with it you would think that he is tearing it apart, but so far he hasn't even pulled a stitch out of it. And the couch is just an old castoff for the sun/mud room.
As for the bike, I got a chance to take it on a short ride this afternoon and so far I am pretty happy with the fit and the ride. I will have to move the shifters up and the bar down and the handlebar is ever so slightly out of alignment. Other than that a little adjustment to the front derailleur and it is done. Well, never done, but you know, done for now. I am looking at getting new pedals for it but right now it has hand me downs so I can use the same cleats on both bikes. I will have to upgrade both bikes at some point. I do like the idea on the yellow striped tires. When these are worn I will definitely be looking at getting some. I do have to get water bottle cages, but I need some that will miss the FD clamp. Anybody have any recommendations? Thanks again everybody. |
He's a..
husky-shepherd mix. My GF and I got him about 2 months ago. He was a rescue dog brought up from Georgia. He is an excellent dog. Just started puppy training can't you tell :)

You obviously haven't seen the OCP rules around here. Lean the bike against a white garage door, drive train facing the camera, chain on big ring, and take the pictures again.

+1 on the yellow striped tired. Below is a picture of my F75 with yellow Michelin Krylon tires. Not exactly the same frame are your build, but might help with the visual of yellow tires installed.
