Tire Questions
So I got my first flat today and didn't have a spare tube. I stopped another roadie and he gave me his CO2, levers, and a 700x25 Bontrager tube. (He was in a rush) My tire size for my 08 CAAD9 says 700x23, I fixed the tube and went on my way. Is it bad to inflate your tire with a bigger size tube? Because near the valve stem there was a bulge, kind of had a little vibration, nothing major. Just wanted to make sure I didn't do any damage to the wheels or tires? I got home checked my tire by flipping it inside out to see if there were any gashes but didn't find anything. Also anyone know the price of a Bontrager 700x25 tube? I can't seem to find it. I would like to repay him even though it maybe a few bucks.

you don't repay him, you repay the next roadie that is stranded with a flat. think of it as "flat karma." tyre leavers, co2, and a spare is what 10bucks? maybe a bit more. thats nothing if you work, and it got you back on the road. next time you see someone problem, even if they are on break, stop for a sec and ask them if they need anything.
5 tubes for 10 bucks.

the only real difference in tubes is weight. the ultra light are like 60grams for 20bucks, most are 120 grams for less than 5bucks. it makes a little bit of a difference in rolling resistance, but unless your racing it doesn't matter. as far as size get ones that are 18-25. always carry a tire patch repair kit, pump(you want alteast 130psi, but that only gives 70psi in the real world, thats why people like co2), atleast 2 tyre leavers, 3 is nice incase one brakes, a multi tool kit with a chain breaker, ID, and a cell phone to call the police, take pictures or to get a taxi.

Yeah, however I got his name and phone number. He doesn't live very far from me, and I'm just assuming he wants it back because he gave me his contact info.
