Getting New Bike
So, my brother is leaving for college soon and my father wants him to exercise.
As a result, I'm giving my brother my bike. I've been searching for a new bike (used), to save some money. And so far I've found a 2006 Fuji Roubaix Pro for 700$, Low Miles http://i10.ebayimg.com/04/i/001/0c/16/3328_1.JPG and I found a Fuji Team Triple 2005 thats going for atleast 450$ http://i23.ebayimg.com/04/i/001/0c/64/74bf_1.JPG Which one should I get? |
Double.
|
Double? What do you mean by that?
|
The Roubaix Pro has a double crankset as opposed to the Team Triple which has a triple crankset. If you're in good shape and it's not super hilly where you live you'll want the double probably. The Team is carbon (I believe this was still the case in 2005?) and the Roubaix is Aluminum.
What components do they both have? |
The ad for the Roubaix doesn't show the components so I'm guessing it was the standard 2006 Roubaix Pro, but he does say that he upgraded the seat.
The ad for the Triple, It is made of lightweight A6 Quaternary Alloy Frame with with carbon fiber fork (350 grams) and C7 carbon and ETC seat stays. Full Ultegra group with Tektro Comp brakes. Wheelset is Shimano WH-R550 with new tires. Ritchey Comp Pro bars and stem. San Marco Ponza Race seat. TruVativ Rouleur Triple Crankset-Shimano Ultegra 10-speed. Color is Plutonium and weight is 18.3 pounds without pedals. Shimano SPD Pedals included. Bike has been well cared for a never dumped. No visible marks or scratches. Shimano wheel scewers. Bike has been newly serviced and is in as new condition. |
I'm having trouble finding information from 2005/2006. Fuji used to allow you to simply change the date in the address and access older versions of the site, this has stopped working for me lately.
This year (I'm assuming back then too) Team is above Roubaix. But changes could have been made between 2005 and 2006, I don't know. |
They are both Ultegra 6600.
The Triple has Shimano WH-6600 wheels, which are better than the Alex jobbers. |
Found a website that seems to have all the bike components & years.
bikepedia.com 2006 Fuji Roubaix Pro http://www.bikepedia.com/Quickbike/B...+Pro&Type=bike 2005 Fuji Team Triple http://bikepedia.com/QuickBike/BikeS...3437&Type=bike |
I'm still not sure which bike to purchase...
The only thing I'm worried about are the components in the bike. |
