I break all my bicycles
Just sayin'. I've broken them all this year except the Cannondale. Two broken cranks, one bent frame.
That is because, unlike half the geniuses here, I RIDE the bikes. Often.
Pcad Says: if your gear is undamaged, you are not riding enough. So don't even think about posting a response until you go out and ride 50+ miles you friggin wussyass Fred losers. And it will be much more convincing if you have broken something before you post here today.

Record? Doesn't break. The wheels I built? Don't break. Crankarms that don't suck? Still not broken.

You're 19. I've been riding racing bikes daily since before you were born. How many miles have you ridden in the last 3 seasons? Tell us, we're all dying to know.

I once asked my brother(who lived in Nagoya sp.?)why Honda built such reliable cars.
He replied that:"They have nothing better to do."
Are your expensive bike bobbles+bling just expensive or are they really functioal, durable, quality parts for a road bike?

I've been riding for 25+ years. Stuff can eventually fail (break) but it sounds like you might be riding some wimpy stuff and/or have questionable maintainance practices. Maybe not, you could be the baddest cat alive riding Mt.DOOM
My old riding partner was a parts breaker (5-6 hours a day on a bike ex pro) but it was usually due to poor maintainance, wimpy ass lightweight parts and general indifference due to his wife's substantial trust fund.

Too little brain?
FTR, I rode 181 km/112.5 miles yesterday. And didn't break anything.

Do you have a trusted mechanic you take your bikes to to get them worked on and put together? Im just curious becuase of your age. If you are doing all of the work yourself that could be the problem. My dad is 64, not quite as old as you but he forgets stuff all of the time. Do you have glasses? Maybe you are missing things on your pretrip checks? Just an idea. Let me know if I could help with anything else.

I broke the bolt that holds the seat to the seatpost (at 19 mph). Didn't loose my family jewels but ended up falling back, (while still clipped).
I haven't heard that happened to any body else. And no.. I'm not that heavy (180-182 lbs)

In the past 5 years with an average of 8,000 miles a year I have yet to break anything. I do replace my chain and brake pads twice a year along with a few sets of tires but that is about it. *Knocking on wood....*
