Least Favorite Cycling Sound

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Least Favorite Cycling Sound

Inspired by psimet's ancient "Favorite Cycling Sound" thread, what's your least favorite?

Mine is the familiar sound of metal hitting pavement when riders go down. If I'm on the sidelines, it gives me whiplash worse than a head-on car accident.

Whistles that some riders have on the trails to "alert" you when they're going to pass. Whatever happened to decent conversation.

The sound of a logging truck's tires ... right behind you ... hitting the rumble strips on the shoulder where you're riding.

DUCK!!

Doesn't happen much around here. By the time logs get this far south, they've already been turned into paper.

My bikes are silent. All I hear is the wind and Phil Liggetts voice in my head.

Rarely happens right where I live, but when I cycle in the mountains, it happens. Nothing like having logs sailing over your head.

Here on the prairie side of the mountains, I've had houses go overhead ... you know those wide load mobile homes? Narrow road, sound of tires on the rumble strip ... I ducked, and then looked up to see a house moving over my head.

The rustle of money leaving my wallet, sort of a bummer.

A load ka-blaam! isn't too pleasant either, though that's mostly been on my unicycle.

The crunch of breaking carbon or that creaking/clicking sound you know will take weeks to track down.

I had a nasty one yesterday - huge ping then the noise of the rear mech being pulled into the spokes.

Cost- 1 new chain, 1 new DA mech, 1 new mech hanger and 1 singlespeed hilly 20 miles home.

The "whap" sound of hitting a pothole *almost* hard enough to pinch-flat at 120psi. Yikes, it hurts just thinking about hitting that again!

An unexpected, totally unnecessary car horn right behind you done specifically to scare the bejeezus out of you. Also, nothing says "child's toy" like chain slip while shifting, and the rattle of the brake levers over bumpy pavement.

The various yells and screams from the pack as we all realize we're about to get hit by a car who failed to stop at a stop sign.

A ringing cell phone on a group ride.

My bb was ticking. Now it's squealing so bad, I was almost kicked out of a paceline on Sunday. "WHAT is that HORRIBLE sound?!" someone said. Back to the shop it goes.

The psssssssssssssst of a flat is a close second.

Somebody yelling "SLOWING!" in when a groups alters it's speed by 1mph.
