newbie pedal/shoe question

Hi Bf,
I bought my first road bike today, claud butler san remo should arrive in next day or two.Anyway i asked my lbs about clipless pedals for a newb and they recommened the shimano M520.I have looked at various reviews of the pedal and although they are a mountain bike pedal most reviews said they were good for road too.On this basis i will most likely have these fitted to my new bike and now onto my main question regarding compatible road shoes. Can you tell me if theses shoes http://www.wiggle.co.uk/p/Cycle/7/dh...es/5360033177/ are compatible with the pedals,im guessing that they are because they said spd but as im getting the shoes mail order i wanna get it right.

Thanks for your time

Simon

Yep. Those will work with basically any cleat you could find these days. They've got it all covered.

They will work but you are better off trying shoes on than buying online.

Just as a follow up do any of you use/have used this paticular pedal either for mountain or road and what has been your experience of them

Cheers

You can spend 50 on a pair of cheap shoes and then 100 on an expensive pair a few months later when the cheap shoes cause you pain, or you can save yourself 50 by buying a pair that fits right in the first place.
