I would go with no...unless you are really rich and don't care or you are good/fast enough to need that extra .1 of a watt the stiffer and lighter carbon may give you...

You are talking about 10r vice 11r carbon. Mold and geometry is the same. Now coming from the Tarmac Comp frame that is 6r or even the Expert frame with 8r you might feel a difference, but i hardly doubt most of us here can tell the difference in a blind test from 10r and 11r.

just my opinion.

Beautiful bike. No one "needs" that bike but if you can afford it, what's the problem? There are worse ways to spend your money...

I've got a 05 Roubaix. 14,744 miles later, no complaints with the bike. The motor, however, still needs work.

My Allez's front end got run over by a car, I broke my clavicle. The frame and carbon fork are still perfect.

I'm happy, and it fits me well.

Love my old Epic Pro ('93?). Now has a Toupe saddle, carbon fork (which looks and rides better), bar tape to match the purple carbon tubing, and SPD pedals.

Great answer. Thanks. In my case I'm coming from a '00 Trek 5200 (OLCV 120). I believe in carbon, but the material itself isn't as important as the geometry and construction. The best upgrade I made to the Trek was the DA 7800 crankset and BB. It made the bike noticeably stiffer than the stock Ultegra 6500 (Octalink).

The '09 SL and SL2 have the same geomtetry and "IS" constrction, unless you go for the SL2 "team" with the shorter head tube...
