Hello road nazis

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Hello road nazis

I think I realized I am one of your kind (sort of) when I started shouting at a Lexus that I thought was antagonizing me near a highway on-ramp.

Turns out they were just asking for directions.

Is it the skinny tires that mandates the bad attitude?

Well now that I'm off to such a fitting start, here's a picture of my bike:

Early '80s Motobecane Jubilee sport. Random MTB handlebars. Cheap tires.

That bike would actually put you in the sub-Fred category. Road Nazis only yell at other cyclists. Never at cars. Cars are too big, and they'll just flatten you anyway.

What happened to your handlebars? It looks like they got broken off just where they start to bend. I'd get that fixed.

That is the inside hill of Torrey Pines. Did you take the photo when you stopped to rest going up the hill?

Shouldn't you be posing on the bike?

You'd have to learn to live with 70 degree weather all year round.

+1 on both counts

Even by Fred standards, that's an impressive bike, and cyclists who yell at cars are acting about as smart as JRT's that try to intimidate Rottweilers
