nashbar shifters

http://www.nashbar.com/profile.cfm?sku=24354

anyone have comment on this one? description is rather poor, looks like shimano/campi/sram clone, but does it work reliably? can they really compete with campi centaur 10sp for almost the same $$$? in the other hand, it is compatible with almost everything, which is tempting.

cheers

They come stock on the Fuji Newest 3.0's.

Research Microshift

on ebay you can get shimano Ultegra/DA shifters for about $150 with the cable housing. some are new in box or off of "new" bikes, either way i've never heard of someone replacing their shifters after 15k miles because of fagitue. the nashbar ones use to be 150 a couple months ago, guess they have gone down.

ahh...i checked bikepedia and they are stock on the 2009 models. i guess thats needed to keep the budget bikes at budget prices. Im curious about how these feel, and will check them out later this year.

for $130 you can get microshifts
but...
$100 for veloce 07/08 (if you can find any)
<$120 for 9sp shimano
$150 for veloce 09 (PBK)
$150 for 105 10sp (used, ebay, etc.)

Nashbar (?) had Ultegra 10-speed triple for $150 recently... (not anymore, though)

thank you all for your contribution,
it seems no one, or hardly anybody, has any real experience with these shifters; let's wait for someone who will have them used for a couple of 000's miles and see what they would say.
what i like about these shifters is the best of all concepts (campi/shimano/sram) - fixed brake lever and clean hood with designated up and down shift levers
the price is decent, it went down a bit, wish they offered decent spec
cheers

I didn't realize that was a potential problem. I can't remember ever braking when I tried to shift, or shifting when I tried to brake. Am I supposed to be having trouble with that?:p

for about 160 bucks for shifter/rd/fd not bad for a budget 10 spd built..

There was a thread on these a little while back. A BF-er said he was going to buy some and test them. I've been awaiting the results.
