Bathed in Gold
Today, I rode a century bathed in gold. :)
My father and I headed out about 8:30 am (+2C, calm) and did a 117 km loop together, taking the time to stop to take photos, of course. It was beautiful out there. We cycled past two of the larger lakes in the area too, which I always enjoy. Toward the end of that first loop, the sky became overcast and the wind picked up ... and when I set off for the remaining distance of the century, it had started to spit and drizzle. I rode the last 10 kms in the rain. However it was quite warm out there (+18) so I didn't mind the rain. And I took quite a few more photos of the golden scenery. It's just beautiful out there. :) The first 13 photos in this collection were taken last Sunday. The rest were taken today. http://www.flickr.com/photos/1430288...7607749991569/ Examples ... http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3060/...f62808.jpg?v=0 http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3258/...b6cb3b.jpg?v=0 |

Some of our leaves are about a week past their peak too ... but others haven't changed yet. It's sort of an odd (but wonderful!) fall this year ... very drawn out. :) The other falls I've been here, the leaves have changed and dropped all in a week or two.

I had this awful fear clicking on this thread that it would be a blinged out track bike. This is much better. Thank you for sharing the photos.

something about a road with walls of trees on both sides in the fall is such win. I would do anything for such a road here, there is one..but it's a long driveway not quite the same. It's a shame that the red/yellow leaves don't stay on the trees too long, but here everything is still green.

I am remiss in not taking photos the last 2 weeks. Or from venturing away from our immediate neighborhood to take pictures. The shot above borders our property to the left. The fall is running very long here as well. Lots of red and golds, though we don't get the hardwood mix that you fortunate eastern types do.
I too find these sorts of days enchanting. http://i524.photobucket.com/albums/c...g?t=1223239505 |
