Nipples!
For the wheels, of course. I'm going to build a set of light weight climbing wheels soon, so I want your useless OCP opinions on which color nipples to use. The hubs are black, the spokes will be silver, and the rims will most likely be black. They will go on this bike.

Blue would look hot

Nice, you got in before the poll!
|
W00t!
I voted too now. :P I like the bike by the way.:thumb: |
Silver. Blue may look good on this bike but will be a total OCP failure if you'd want to transfer the wheels to another bike.

I voted blue. But I only entered this thread because it had the word nipples in it.

blue nipples, like my blue balls, won't even be noticed. people might think its a spec of dirt or drips of paint. imo go blue spokes, make a strong sexy statement and keep rest of the well black, or silver

Wow, a lot of people seem to think I should show support for LGBT. One problem: I can't seem to find orange nipples.

Where the heck would I find blue spokes? More importantly, blue DT Revolution spokes?

Red. Blue is nice but too expected. Toss on some red brake cable housing to complement.

let's see, you had a celeste bike, with celeste tape, a celeste saddle, and you wore celeste kit.
i wonder which option you'll go for? :innocent: |
Silver brass. Nearly always.
|
On a serious note, I say skip aluminum all together. Aluminum nipples fail after a short period of time compared to brass.
|
Call me a Republican, but I've always loved silver spokes and silver nipples. All these new fangled colored al-eh-mineum nipples just look like **** to me.
Also, good luck with that whole pacific ocean salty air thing too. |
Damn, this thread is a let down. :p

Silver brass. Aluminum nipples are bad. They corrode, they strip, they generally suck. They don't save that much weight, so go with the brass.
|
Oh, as for the brass debate, I'm a very light rider and these will have 28 spokes on each wheel (so the tension doesn't have to be as high) and I have wheels (road and mountainbike) over 10 years old with aluminum that are holding up just fine.
|
Also voted for the red nipples. Red skewers with red nipples would be rad.
|
Alternating red and silver.
