Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Price for a used Giant OCR2

A local shop is selling a "slightly" used (80 miles) 2004 Giant OCR2 with MTB style handle bars. I have a Defy 3 right now as my main bike. Is $450 a good price for this? The owner indicated that they are flexible with the price. I'm looking to get this as a backup and for when riding with my wife in the local trail.

Thanks.

It sounds like you really don't need it given your superior Defy.

+1 unless you really NEED a second cheap bike. The OCR is a good solid frame and rides well but would be a downgrade from the Defy3. Or would it- Slightly better spec on the OCR2 than the Defy 3. As to whether it would be worth considering is down to you but at that price- could be a good buy but doubt it would be a better bike than you already have.

You seem to already have a good bike. Why not go for the gold and negotiate for less than $400?
