Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Pedal Force RS2

How are are those frames holding up? Any gripes or positive feedback from those of you who purchased the frame? Thanks in advance ----- Lp

I mean my PF was the deal of the century...for me. Not overly concerned with what anyone else thinks. He asked for PF owner opinions. I gave him one.

I owned and rode both frames (Pedal Force RS2 and Bottecchia-USA). In my opinion, the Pedal Force RS2 is much nicer quality, just as stiff and compliant and almost 300 grams lighter, plus it looks awesome.

Don't get me wrong, I liked my Bottecchia, but the Pedal Force frame/fork are worlds apart in comparison.

As far as the price difference, the RS2 is worth it but if you are on a budget, the Bottecchia is still a great deal. The Bottecchia fork sux though (it's nearly 600 grams). I went with an Easton EC90 SL-X fork with the Bottecchia. I bought the complete Dura-Ace groupset Bottecchia from David down in Houston.

I plan on purchasing another RS2 at the end of the year. Yes, I like it that much.

As of today, I've ridden the RS2 4,203 miles since late April. I sold the Bottecchia in late July.

I would love another PF RS in carbon/white paint like the RS2, or a price cheap enough to justify having one painted. I may settle for an RS2 but I don't really care for the curved tubes. I have an Easton EC90 SL fork on the RS but I'd probably go with a Reynolds UL on the RS2 just for something different.

ZXiMan thanks for the comparison. It was most informative. I have the Bottecchia frame with an Easton EC90 fork; I built it up with Ultegra STI and Mavic wheels. It really is a great value in the world of carbon frames.

I have acquired a new Ultegra gruppo and my intent was to build up a new Giant TCR frame. However the RS-2 really looks good and I am sure the two frames really are comprable. I could live without the bling factor of the TCR and keep some of my cash to boot.

Other comments re the RS-2 would be much appreciated. Lp

No problem. If you really like the Bottecchia, you will absolutely love the RS2.
