Hate when dogs try to jump on you biking by?

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

The only dog that has ever tried to jump on me while I was riding have been my own dogs.

If your sick of them chasing you all the time just kick them in the nose with your cleat. They don't like that.

Sadly my pup has linked me being on my bike to me going away for a couple of hours so he always hates it when I get on any bike, even if all I'm doing is going around in circles in a garage making sure everything is well adjusted.

On the note of none leashed dogs on my rides...I hate them, because they put themselves, me and everyone around me in danger, especially if someone in the group is new and does not know how to handle dogs. Usually they stop dead in their tracks within a couple of feet of you but there have been a couple of occasions when they get hit. Maybe it'll teach them, since their owners are too lazy to...

No dogs yet, but I almost ran over a family of skunks, once and I swear the adults started chasing me. I was, fortunately, just a bit faster then they were.

I was taken out by a dog in May. Called the police to scare the owners a bit. Flipped over the bars but was only going like 15mph.

This is a DAILY occurance for me. I actually go certain routes, just so I get chased and have to sprint. Some of those dogs can run beside me at 30+ mph...

Adds a bit of extra motivation to "work" hard.

I carry pepper spray and I've had dogs begin to chase me. But every time I reach for the can of spray, the dog runs away. What??? Do they recognize the can?
