Any replacement for Michelin Krylion yet?
 

I've been out of the BF loop for a while and I'm wondering if Michelin has released a similar tire. I loved my Krylions and was bummed when they were discontinued. I can't find them anywhere.

I don't think we ever determined they were discontinued, did we?

Every site I check says "discontinued" or out of stock.

Chain Reaction Cycles has a new supply due in on November 10.

If you can use the 700C by 20mm size, Biketiresdirect apparently has them in stock right now.

Someone in a LBS told me that they are changing production to a different facility and hit some snags, delaying the new runs. I have nothing to back that up, but it is as good a reason as I have heard for their disappearance from the market.

They're out there, just not as easy to find.

Shoot an email to Michelin. They're pretty friendly. Just use the UK email address, as there is none listed for US.

I imagine that they're moving production to Thailand. Same place the Lithions and PR3s are made.

I've got a set of 700x25 Krylions that I recently purchased from BikeTiresDirect. They have about 300mi on them. They won't fit my new bike, which requires a 700x25 tire that is actually 700x25 in size, so I'd be more than happy to sell or swap them... To be honest, I couldn't tell any difference between the Krylions and the Continental Ultra Gatorskins they replaced.

my LBS has a whole bunch of them in stock still b/c its a campus bike shop and they are too expensive for regular people...

but im riding gp4000s rite now...

Though it's been mentioned...it has not yet been conclusively proven that the tire was discontinued.

I asked Michelin directly at their Interbike booth if they were discontinuing Krylions. He pointed to a three tire display right next to my head.

"Krylion Carbon".

Oh.

He asked me where I heard Krylions were discontinued.

"Bike forum."

He rolled his eyes.

ive had some Vittoria Slicks for 500+ miles and they are AMAZING.. ive had no flats (KNOCK ON WOOD), and they handle well in wet conditions too

actually we use both, it's just that you should stick to one form of the spelling consistently throughout whatever it is you're writing.

I went the same route on the recommendation of the guy at the local shop. Took them out for 60 miles this morning and was pretty happy with them. They seem to ride pretty nicely. I don't know that I'd race on them, but it's past that time of year

Because mine have 2,000 miles on them and are the rear is only starting to wear.

FWIW, I just bought two 700x23 on Colorado Cyclist.
