The Cannondale Six/thirteen

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I saw a prototype this past weekend. Wow...

Combo frame construction has gotten a big time competitor. Great thing about Cannondale, you can trade up on frames with them. I am on an Optimo now. I am just waiting for the trade up price.

This is an improved version of the frame Simoni rode last season. Bike's available in June per the rep.

BTW...the name is for the atomic number of carbon (6) and aluminum (13).

Just out of curiosity approx. how much do you get taken off of your old frame if you trade up? Is it worth it to trade up or just buy a new frame and have another bike?

RobotSonic, it wont be nearly what you paid for that nice optimo. And you are looking at some crazy money with the new 6/13. Personally, I think Cannondale will have a hard time competing with the full carbon bikes especially at the prices they will be asking. I ride the optimo myself by the way.

i'm so sick of this "legalize my cannondale" bull. yeah, simoni did win stage 14, at the tour, but i'd hardly say he "scorched" the competition like they claim. 7 others were within a minute, and 2 others finished with the same time as he did. when all was said and done, where did he place on the overall GC? oh yeah, 84th, over 2 and a half hours down. but the bike is so light!

anything to sell a bike...

Fore, I agree. At the professional level, it has less to do with the bike than it does the caliber and condition of the cyclist. A good bike is a good bike at any rate and I think that we amateurs search for anything that we perceive will make us better. Best thing in this case is to lose weight and increase fitness. But hey, I still like my C'dale.
