Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

What Other Cyclists Say

If I ride aluminum, other cyclists pass me and say "see ya later". And they can here my teeth chattering from road buzz miles away

Riding steel, they ask "wtf is that?"

Riding Ti & climbing hills, they say "wait up". But it's often hard to hear them because they're so far behind me.

Riding carbon, they say.....well I don't own a carbon bike so I have no idea

.....or the BF schill threads, or pics of my wound threads, or which $600 bike should I buy, or debating 11spd vs 10 spd, or 99% of the other useless threads.

It's all just for fun. Go out and ride, everyone. Come back at night and have fun on BF.

will other cyclists say that I'm a Fred if I don't have all the same brand gear on. ie I bought some LG knee warmers on the cheap but I am can't find any other LG stuff for as cheap.

Speaking of which, are there tiers to clothing companies as in the the levels of gruppos?

DA > Ultegra > etc. = Pearl Izumi > Castelli > Descente???

Some people actually prefer Sora. Nothing wrong with that -- to each his own. I'm with umd on this. PI is Tiagra at best.
