Best Computer besides Edge

My Edge pooped the bed at the tail end of the summer.

I love that thing, but the more I thought about it and the more often I rode without it, I felt somewhat liberated from the lack of knowledge it gave me. I only got a fleeting satisfaction looking at my riding logs. I'm not training for anything. So, to spend $200+ to get another....just not gonna do it.

I do like to know cadence to maintain efficiency and if I can elevation climbed just for poops and giggles. After the Edge wireless is a must.

What is a great wireless computer that works flawlessly and doesn't cost an arm and a leg and gives me cadence and possibly elevation?

I have not looked into computers in almost 3 years.

Thanks.

Blackburn Delphi series is nice. Wired cadence though :/ HR, cadence, wireless speed, and I got the one w/o altimeter for $70. Nice big display with everything on one screen. IMHO

Cateye V2c Speed and Cadence Wireless
Cateye V3 Speed, Cadence and Heart Rate Wireless

I have the V3 and love it.

What happened to your Edge? A lot of problems can be easily fixed, or sent in and fixed for the $99 charge.

What about the Cateye V2c? It's 2.4ghz wireless and does cadence (not elevation though)? I own the V3c which basically adds heartrate and it's been fantastic. My only issue so far is the font-size for my speed is a little small.

Edit: Damnit - beaten!

WEll, I got the dreaded shut-off from bumps and such. One ride I was pissed off at the world for a variety of reason and I directed my anger on the Edge when it shut off for like the 10th time in a row. I smashed it with my fist and broke the screen.

Do you think they'd still fix it for $99?:)

I got a Blackburn Neuro 5.0. I didn't like it at first but it is growing on me. Wireless speed, cadence, and heart rate.

What about the Vetta V100A?

Seems like a decent deal at $120. Give me wireless cadence & Altitude

Bummer. Mine was doing that too and I popped it apart and fixed it, then glued it back together. Works great now.

Any trick to getting it apart?

A teammate of mine, tanhalt, has been doing a bunch of comparison tetsing of power meters, including the iBike. He said that the results are suprisingly good (although has the expected large power swings in places), but as a computer it leaves a lot to be desired. He could probably give much better info, but from what I understand there is a new generation iBike coming out very soon that has a new design/control layout...

I like simple computers; Cateye Strada Cadence.
