Help me choose my first road bike. I have 2 in mind.

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Help me choose my first road bike. I have 2 in mind.

Hey, im new to the forums and is looking for a new road bike. I work at a bike shop down here in florida and is looking at a couple of bikes. My store carries Giant, and Jamis bikes so I can get a pretty big discount on those. I am 14 so I'm going to grow. Right now im 5'5 so I fit a 54 cm frame perfect right now. The two bikes I was looking at was the Jamis Ventura race.

I like it because it has 105 components and other great features for the price.

I like this one too but it is a little expensive for my first bike.

Please help me, and list some other bikes that you think are good starting bikes that also have good performance for the future.

thanks

If you're 14 you're going to grow a ton in the next couple of years. Have you considered buying used?

If you work at the bike shop, why not ask them?

I haven't really given it much thought, because we never get any used bikes in, alone a road bike.

Wait you're 5'5" and you fit a 54cm bike perfect? So you have insanely long legs?
