No but if you want to try the clothes washer, don't forget to toss in the helmet.

if english isn't your first language atleast proof read your post, honestly i have tons of spelling/grammer mistakes too, but the title makes no sense at all. it hurts my head trying to figure it out.
btw just use simple green. it takes less than 2mins to make a cassette shine with simple green. i wouldn't soak a cassette, atleast not while on the wheel.

Former Hoarder
I've done it. It worked great. I also ran a couple of deraillers, a crankset, seatpost, stem, some wheels and a couple of frames. No chain, pedals or brifters however.
OK, not the wheels and the frames - but I have done the other stuff.
Key is to use a degreasing dishwasher soap and to wipe down the inside of the dishwasher afterwards,
And yes, i am single...now.

Don't knock it if you haven't tried it. I have done it several times. Learned it from my dad and car parts when I was growing up.
Just wait until those in your household who have narrow minds about food and grease are gone for the day. The dishwasher will miraculously not be dirty. But, I always did a quick load afterwards to cover my tracks.

I used to work with a guy who when he got home in the evening, threw his dishes in the dishwasher, along with potatoes, onions, carrots, etc.
Then went to shower.
When he got out his dinner was cooked.

Yes. A dishwasher works great as a parts washer, and as a helmet washer. However, expect divorce/buying a new dishwasher if the wife finds out.

I have an old dishwasher installed next to my washer and dryer in the garage that I use for bike and car parts washing. I also have an old oven set up for powder coating parts that will fit inside.

For as much as we paid for our dishwashers drawers, I don't even like to wash dishes in them. The wine glasses look spectacular though.

I cleaned an M1 Garand stock set in my dish washer. Came out nice and dent-free! Simple Green and a cloth cleans a cassette in 1/10th the time.
