Campy Sciroccos vs. Eurus
What are the major differences I will see between the Campy Sciroccos vs. Eurus? I have the former but am thinking of purchasing the latter. Is it worth the bump, cost? I don't race (presently), I just ride for miles sake.
Thanks, Urbanmonk |
I use 07 Eurus's and they are strong and stiff as hell, I been riding them on crappy roads and they are still true. No flex either, I would recommend Eurus wheels.

Bearings and weight. You might want to consider the Zonda which is the same as the Eurus but it uses steel spokes rather than AL...they can be had for like $500.
New Eurus 2 way fit can be had for like $800 and will do tubless road tires or normal clinchers. |

i have some Zondas and they are my favorite wheels i've had. I put them back on for the winter after switching to some DT Swiss Mon Chasserals and had kind of forgotten how nice the Zondas are. wicked stiff, with ridiculously smooth hubs. I'd love some Eurus/Shamals on my next rig.

I ride Campy wheels because I have had such great luck with them. Scirroccos bang for buck are terrific and my present wheels. I looked for Zondas initially but defaulted to Scirroccos because I found a pair for a great price. I personally believe in diminishing return on higher end bike parts that has limited benefit to the average cyclist in particular and that applies even within the Campy family. The mid to mid/high range stuff to me is the sweet spot.

I need new Campagnolo wheels but what about the spoke pattern? It just seems like it wouldn't be very strong.
