2009 model Giant FCR 1! wow!
I have been riding fixed for about a year now, it is great fun, but there are times (read, hills) that I wish I had the option of a gear change. I ride 48x16, which is not herculean but pretty high when faced with hills.
I sometimes meet other road riders about the city and sometimes miss the ability to work my way up through gears (saving my knees a lot of stress).
I like the clean lines and lightweight of track bikes, but then I saw the new Japanese model FCR 1 (and Zero, but that is getting a bit expensive).
Pictures speak a thousand words, but the components seem quite nice too! I am impressed by the Mavic CXP22 rims! usually Giant goes with Alexrims (which are ok).
here you are!

Quite odd how the consumer and marketing works because I believe that is the same frame as the Trinity sold in the states that is a TT/Tri bike with aero bars and bar end shifters, yet in Japan it is sold as a "lifestyle" bike with flat bar components and bar ends.

it's in the Road bike section of the site, not the lifestyle. They are asking ¥130,000 for the FCR1, which seems a little high, but the frame looks nice.
I like drops, but I like the strength and stability of flat bars, nose wheelies are much easier to control!
Looks like it is the same frame. Biggest size it comes in Japan is the 50cm C-T!
