Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Felt 51cm or 54cm?

I'm looking into getting my first road bike. I'm 5'7", 150 lbs. with a 30" inseam. I am looking into a 2009 Felt Z25. I probably should be in a 52cm, but Felt only makes it in a 51cm and 54cm frame. My question is, do I go bigger or smaller in frame size?

I would suggest smaller as it's easier to add length via a stem or get an offset seat post to extend length.......just an opinion based on my experience.

Good luck with your Felt, I have the 2008 Z25 and am very pleased with it!

Go with the 51. I have a 54, with a 30 inseam and the top tube is a tad too long. You can always go with a longer stem/post on a bike too small, but if its too big you are screwed.
