105 vs Ultegra Pedals

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

105 vs Ultegra Pedals

What's the difference between the 2008 Shimano 105 (5610) pedals and the 08 Ultegra (6620) pedals?
At PBK, the 105s are $57 and the Ultegras are $90. Is the ultegra worth the extra $33?

105:

Thanks!

i believe the difference is the bearings used in the spindle. shouldn't be a weight difference

PBK lists the weight difference as 15 grams (I believe). I have the 105s and they're great, but I have not tried the Ultegra.

I was in the same situation about 2 weeks ago. Went with 105 and they work great.
Btw, i paid $42 for them on PBK after 5% discount. I think the current 5% copuon code is USARBR.

Ultegras are a waste of money. If you're looking for a better pedal, go to dura ace. Lower q-factor and a much more substantial weight loss. I have both the 105 and the DA.

Save the money, get 105's.

The ultegras were much cheaper when I bought them.

It's $90 Canadian.

Seems like there's not much difference between the two, so 105 seems like a better idea. I just hope the customs duties aren't too steep.

i bought ultegras when they were $62 at PBK. i wouldn't pay extra for them. They're just pedals that function the same as any other spd-sl

What do you mean by q factor? Also how much drop in weight?

q factor is more or less the spindle length. if you're asking the question about weight, it's not worth the money to upgrade
