Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

The hoods on 7800 DA are different than Ultegra and 105. I describe the shape as smaller/narrower.

I have '08 105's and haven't had any problems, but I will agree that shifting from the big ring to the smaller ring requires a bit more force than I would like. They're not much different than ultegra or dura ace. But I did notice a very small difference in how smooth they shifted, that's about it, ultegra and dura ace being a little smoother.

Worth the price difference? Not for a college student.
