Time Trial Splits?

Just did my first 25 Mile Time Trial last Saturday. This was on a 3 mile course with a (less than 2%) uphill grade on the western side of the course. Don't know whether these are good splits or not? Your thoughts?

Lap 1 0:12:06
Lap 2 0:11:11

Lap 4 0:09:55

It depends on your age, how long you have been riding, the wind that day and a dozen other factors. Serious TT guys (Cat 1) will do a 25mile/40km in 50-55minutes or faster. Most people would be happy with something under 1hr 10mins. Averaging anywhere over 21.8mph/35kph is good. Keep working at it, the times will drop quickly.

CHEERS.

I'm planning on doing a 10mile tt in a couple of weeks, never done one before though. What type of time/ avg. speed should i be looking for? I've been riding for about a year now/

See Dutchy's response...it depends on the course. But, on a flat not too technical course, really good would be about 25 MPH.

Suprising you got faster..usually you get a bit slower as the lactate builds up. You are almost three minutes faster on the eighth lap...in two laps had improved almost two minutes. Your fastest lap is your last. In an eight lap deal like this, I'd expect to see laps 3-5ish be your fastest. I am curious on why? Because if the first three laps were like the last five, you might have cut about five minutes out of your time. That's like a lifetime in time trialing.
Did you ride the course ahead of time? Warm up properly? What is your age?
Just curious...

I would second road warrior. Looks to me you could easily get down to the 70min
range over a few months. After that you would have to start riding with a group
that tends to stretch you a bit, makes you work, and a bit of coaching might help.
Although it is not strictly necessary to ride much more than 25-30mi to train for a
TT, the knowledge you can do 50-75mi and not feel to bad, makes the 25mi TT
seem easier. Circular course tend to neutralize wind more than out and back courses. Steve
