can anybody tell me how much this is worth

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

What does that have to do with the value?

A bike without pedals? I'd say it's worthless.

come on will..we both know that if a bike has been raced before it is more likely to have been crashed. I personally don't like the idea of buying a bike that I know has been crashed. So i'd imagine it would bring the value down if it had been raced.

It doesn't matter if it's been raced unless it's been crashed.

I'd buy a used race bike without thinking twice if it was in good condition and hadn't been crashed.

just because it's been raced doesn't mean you "know it's been crashed." i think that "never been raced" was something someone put in an ebay/cl ad once because that's what you do with cars, and now it has caught on. "Only driven on Sunday, never taken to the track." I matters with cars b/c you can really do some damage to a trans, for example that severely shortens its life. You racing a bike isn't going to severely shorten its life unless you break it in a crash. No "speeding up the fatigue" life.

and because I feel bad for the OP: used aluminum? bike w/ mid-level shimano wheels and either 105 or Ultegra 10spd drivetrain: If I have that right, I'd say $600-$1k, with the value varying wildly depending on where and how the transaction takes place

The Joe the bid was at $35.

I'll give $36 but expect a discount on pedals.

I take the raced part back....I meant to ask if it's been crashed before...as ppl have already helped clarify.

And to get back on topic...I wouldn't know the value of the bike but I still think it's 2005.
