Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Road Condition Request- Prospect Park

Anyone know the snow/ice/wetness situation at Prospect Park (Brooklyn)? I was hoping to get an outside ride in today...

Thanks,
Ben

You should consider posting in the sub-forum for that region, or looking up the websites for your local transit authority (or authorities).

Have you looked out the window in the last 36 or so hours?

Looking out the window won't tell me if the park road has been cleared, unless I lived along the outside of the park, which I don't, nor does Bnjmn apparently. The road isn't a big priority since there is no traffic in it over the weekend. I went over once a few years ago after it had snowed though and it had been cleared and was dry.

Does PCad ride in PP? I thought he lived somewhere north.

OK, here's the report, I just drove into Park Slope along the park.

The park road was cleared, but it looked sloppy. The snow was starting again and with the temps being what they are it won't go away so quickly.

You wanted to go today, but I'd say tomorrow doesn't look promising.
