Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

QR marring

I know I should use a cheap QR skewer any time I toss one of my bikes on my trainer. Sometimes I forget to switch out. The result, I end up marring some decent QRs. I've tried using every sort of washer (rubber plumbing washers, thin sections of radiator or garden hose, etc.) to place between the trainer and QR. Nothing seems to work very well. Any ideas? Oh yeah, I have a CycleOps. Thanks for your thoughts and ideas.

If you only use the trainer during the winter, just leave the heavy duty skewer on your bike all winter long. It probably only weighs a couple of ounces more than your ultralight weight weenie skewer.
