Which one is better Scott & Bianchi
Hi There I'm a newbie in road cycling and I want to choose a suitable bike for me
I found two bikes in evanscycles.com seems to be nice for my budget (Scott speedster S40 2009)& (Bianchi Via Nirone 7 Ultegra/105 2008)...Scott looks pretty while Bianchi looks more advance
mainly I want to use it for recreational fitness & long distance rides (to lose some of the 240lb!)
Any opinion will be appreciated

Trek!
Well, I only said that because my first bike getting while getting into road cycling was a Trek 1000. Very good entry level bike with an entry level price.
At what you said you wanted to use it mainly for recreation and some distance rides, I'd hold off on the Bianchi mainly because the Ultegra/105 combo will raise the price considerably. The Scott maybe the better choice in terms of price since it looks like it uses mostly Tiagra components.
Still at just about a $1000 for the '09 Scott and almost $1700 for the Bianchi, there are cheaper alternatives that would fit the bill. As always, if style factor, performance and you may seriously considering cycling serious business, a higher quality ($$$) bike is up to you.

I used to weigh ~250lbs. I started with a Scott S40. It's a descent frame. The one thing that's bad about lower end bikes are the wheels. I ended up replacing them, I just couldn't keep the original wheels true. Other than that, the bike components worked well and the bike was perfect for my weight loss. I would also check out the clyde forum.

Well if they are priced the same go with the better groupset, what feels the best to you and I guess what ever is visually appealing. But with the groupset you described i'm guessing the Bianchi is more. In which case as someone newer to biking you may want to hold off on spending a ton of money until you know exactly what you are looking for. Get something mid-range ride the hell out of it, then get what you know you want.
With that said I currently own a 08' S40(my first road bike) and love it!!. Soooo my vote is for Scott.

Scott, they make ski poles don't they?
OP, they're both good bikes. What are the components on the Scott? are they comparable? If they are then buy the one that you like the look of, that will be the one that makes you smile more, that will be the one you want to ride more!
Good luck dropping the lbs.

I always thought Bianchi looks nicer, especially in it's celeste colour scheme.

I own both a Scott and a Bianchi. Bianchi takes better care of their customers IME. Scott's are aften better equipped, not using house brand components trying to cheapen the package.
In this case, I'd give the nod to the Nirone. Both are fine choices, however.

stole your bike
I like both Scott and Bianchi, but have more experience with Bianchi since I've owned one for almost 10 years. Both brands make quality products across their ranges so it's a matter of which model and package you're interested in. I test rode the CR1 Team and thought it was a solid bike, which I would love to own if I had the space.

I own a Via Nirone and the bikes geometry is less "Racey" and not as aggressive for more comfortable and longer rides. Like mine so far, but then again, I'm partial.
And yes, the Celeste scheme is beautiful. A constant attention grabber.

Thank you guys for responding
both bikes in same range about 1150$ while scott09 & bianchi08
https://www.evanscycles.com/products/...-bike-ec000022
https://www.evanscycles.com/products/...-bike-ec016349
I was thinking about scott but when I saw the bianchi's advanced components I become hesitating
both hading hydro formed 7000 aluminium frame with carbon fork while bianchi got carbon seat stay & seat post which absorbing vibration and makes comfort in long distance rides(as I read in bianchi site)
also other components in bianchi side,
ultegra/105 for bianchi & tiagra for scott
but for me scott design is better than bianchi(may be thats what I'm crying for)

Are you able to go to any shop's and ride them before you purchase? I would have that be my final desicion. In the end you will enjoy what feels, rides and appeals to you the best. If it is the Scott(which seems to be what you are leaning towards) then so be it.The facts are out there, the Bianchi has better components for a slightly lower price.
Also, I am not sure where you are located but if your interested in Scott I know EMS had their 08's on sale for like 20% off not to long ago. You may be able to get a 08' with better components for a lower price or the same as the 09. Check www.ems.com

I'm getting a 2007 Bianchi Via Nirone 7 just like the above in two days. I also looked at Scott S20s to S60s so I like both of them. My vote goes to the Bianchi.

yes prendrefeu I'm from Jeddah KSA
Actually in my area people do not have that interest in cycling so we don't have a much of brands and choices as yours
We've TREK dealer but he overpricing his bikes , for that I'm seeking in US & UK markets
But until now I didn't find any US site accepting shipments to KSA! do any one know a site? So now I'm dealling with Evans Cycles located in UK and they're so fast & helpful
Any way I'm almost looking now toward bianchi while scott 09 also will take 6-7 weeks to be available in evans stores

From what you say..i'd take the Bianchi. but if you are not used to doing good maintenance then i suppose you would want to start out with cheaper components..

Jeddah
I just looked at the bikes. Go for the Bianchi, the 10 speed will be easier to upgrade.
The sizes are limited so make sure you know what you need.
Ride safe.

Anyway, your best bet would be to go with a UK company to provide the bike to you. They don't tend to have the restrictions that US companies have. Here are a few places to look, but you may need to find out the policies of each company individually:
https://www.wiggle.co.uk/
https://www.ribblecycles.co.uk/
https://www.planet-x-warehouse.co.uk/ (check out their complete bikes. you may be able to get a better deal as this is not a "brand name". For your budget, you can get a better drivetrain and frame)
Those are just starters. You can also try this company, as they claim to have free worldwide shipping: https://shop.cycletaiwan.com/
If any of the choices from those suit you, and you are interested, a few people on this board can offer some helpful recommendations of what to go with... a few people.
