Good news and a date that reminds you how fortunate you caught that one early.

Glad you are alive and apparently doing well. I enjoy your frequently pointed comments. One question-whose head in your avatar.

Congrats Boto!
Y'all check them hides as well. Do it today.
https://www.skincancer.org/Melanoma/
I'm thankfull to be some fifteen years clean; Skin Doc said my risk (of dying from C in the next 10 years) went from about 4% to about 28% in the time from GP visit to his first viewing (and immediate cutting session), almost three months.
Between local shot and first cut, Skin Doc called the GP and verbally ripped his ass for marking the referral "routine" instead of "immediate." This after pointedly inquiring re/ his assessment of the spot, etc., then covering the phone and asking me if I were keeping him as my GP. Hell no. Needless to say, I found a new GP.
Melanoma is no jokey.

Here is to many more like you catching it early and coming back for many more years... even if it is for the continued self-imposed abuse that is BF and cycling...

good to hear! (know Im late on the thread). I know its dumb but I've done regular checks ever since Tom Green was diagnosed ,and even though it was for shock factor, his segment on testicular cancer always has that check your balls for cancer song lol. It doesn't matter how you remember...just remember to do it!

Well done for not being dead botto
I haven't posted much here recently. I had a scare back in August. Regular check up led to MRI and CAT scans, much poking and prodding, which finally lead to keyhole surgery and convalescence.
Got back in the saddle early December.
Always better to know and take action. If in doubt get checked.
(colonic not testicular)

I'll be honest. Had not even had a thought to do a self check already. I'm going to be doing the exam later. Thank you for this thread.

I'm glad this young man posted this thread, even though it is a few years old. As a double cancer survivor (leukemia and prostate cancer), who is very open about my cancers, I think these types of open postings do people more good than any cancer commercial you can see on TV. I hope that all of you that read his story, and the stories posted by other cancer survivors on BF, make you realize that this can happen to you and early detection is the key to survival. Thanks botto.
