Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Pro Miyata.

Hello All.

First off I am sorry I don't have a pictures,

I am just wondering if any of you fellow Miyata lovers out there could tell me the difference between
a Pro Miyata, and a Team Miyata. I haven't really seen much information about the pro series (of which I have one) but have seen lots of information about the Team.

The bike I have is set up with full 600 group, probably mid 80s, double butted cro-mo tubeset. Nice bike, light, fast geometry etc.

Thanks for any help.

I'm interested to know as, well. I believe I have an 80s team miyata frameset.
Chrome stays, little number card braze-on...

Maybe I can get a photo up in a few days...

i own a mid 80's pro miyata..red with yellow lettering, chrome fork and seatstays(sp) ...in making my decision for that model year, i recall the main difference in the two model is that the team miyata was equipped with a higher end component group, usually shimano dura ace, while the pro miyata came with the suntour superbe or shimano 600, also the team miyata was in the racing colors of the official miyata race team (blue and yellow) and i was told it was basically the same bike frame used by the riders on the pro circuit, except theirs had the campy group. frame construction and quality i can't recall, i know my pro miyata has triple butted tubing..my brother has even a 'rarer' miyata i think, it has the oval tubing and was asvertised as the pro miyata aero model
