Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Merlin - this early in season, what's the thought process behind 5x3's? I thought 3' or shorter were for later in the year.
Racing in Florida starts next weekend. Actually, for some, it started on January 1.

The points series races start January 31st. It's all about February.

physically AWC intervals (i.e. 30" on/30" off and 1' on/1' or 2' off) hurt me the most, but my mind does tend to wander during longer (20') stuff.

I was gonna say that one. But it's not doing the interval that is torture, but the idea of having to do the interval.

I think for me that is true of all intervals. I hate the idea of doing them, but once I start, I can commit totally. When I'm done im usually wondering to myself what the fuss was all about. And then the loathing starts all over again.

Now that I've finished my Base period I'm transitioning to my Specialization period. Aside from AR, the Totally Interval Training System (TITS™) consists of nothing but interval work. TITS™ is really nothing new, been around forever; this is just a more formalized approach.

True, TITS™ may be hard to handle in really huge volume, but I expect great things to come from the experience.

You could be right; maybe I'm just getting old. I can't say I tried any really huge volume TITSTM when I was younger, and I regret it now.

I wonder if Pcad has any experience with TITSTM.

So very true. I've got one coming up on Saturday. Looking to do about 20W avg better than last time. Once I start, I'll be fully committed, until then, I just hate even thinking about doing the test.
