Is this worth it? Zunow Hummingbird

Notices
Road Cycling It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle. -- Ernest Hemingway

Is this worth it? Zunow Hummingbird

I am new here. Been riding my mountain bike on the road for a while and want something a bit more efficient. Been looking at road bikes, trying to find something used and nice for under $700. I came across a Zunow hummingbird locally in my size.

Here is her description of the bike:

"the bike has been well cared for and is very clean. i can't say if the 600 components are original though, but they are all in good shape. i've tried to keep the wheels pretty true, but they do fall out of true from time to time. the tires are about 6 months old and have not been ridden too much, so they've got a good amount of life left in them. there is one small ding on the middle, right side of the top tube, i'm guessing from someone locking it or the bars hitting it? i've had the guys at back alley look at it and they don't think it would ever cause more damage. there is no indication of rust, but as fits with it's age, there are some minor blemishes here and there. still very beautiful. i had my friend look atit when i got it and he's a mechanic and thoughtit was looking great. i keep the chain oiled, etc."

Bike also has araya rims, mks ar-2 pedals with straps

prestige cr-mo double butted tange tubes

I'm going to go look at it in a couple days. She agreed to $500, just wondering if this is a good deal if the bike is in fact in good riding condition?

Ask in the classic and vintage forum, but from what I've read Zunow's were really good frames.

I don't think it's worth 500 though. Maybe 300-400, especially because of the dings.

zunow, one ding in TT, with what looks like tricolour 600, I'd buy it for $500.

This is a great website, glad I found it. Hopefully next time I will post in the correct forum and sub-forum.

I am going to go look at it today, and if it is in as good shape as she says, pick it up.
