BTW the weather man Lies! *Warning Rant*

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

BTW the weather man Lies! *Warning Rant*

OK, today I planned to ride the suncoast trail, and as I always do I check the forecast to see what the wind is doing. Weather man says that the wind is going to be out of the WNW and 5-10mph.

Cool, I think I will head north from SR 52 on the trail ride to the end with a slight head wind, than turn back and have a slight tail wind coming back.

Well BS the wind was out of the WNW... Well it was until about 2:30/3:00PM. About 20 minuets before I Turn around I feel the wind switch TO A DEAD TAIL WIND of about 10-15mph. so now I have been riding for an hour and a half with a light head wind, than get a nice tail wind for 15 minuets. them turn south to enjoy 30 miles of 15mph in my face.

I decided to go north so that I could have a tail wind on the dead flat section of the trail coming home.

Other than that is was a nice 60 mile ride (long for me as I usually do a 30 or 40 mile loop) took about 3.5 hr and I think I ended up with a 17.4/5mph average.

OOh and my year milage total is 180!

*End Rant

be happy you got a workout!

the worst is when the stupid weatherman says it's going to rain in the morning so you wait until the evening to ride, then it's all clear in the morning and by the time the evening rolls around it's pouring, cheated cheated cheated

Seattle is easy. The daily forecast is rain with varying amounts of wind. But there will be rain and there will be wind.

I use weather.com. I don't trust it. I'd have better luck just looking out the window half the time.

That was weather.com
I usually check weather. com, than go to my Alma maters weather center page as it give real time weather readings.
I usually get a chuckle out of the differences.

Wind turns. Maybe if you didn't interrupt your ride with all that dancing, you'd get done before it happens.

Why would anyone believe the "weatherman" in the first place?

If I didn't believe the "weather Man" than I would have nothing to contribute to the "Interweb"

I will remember to HTFU when it's 98* 98* Humidity and there is a Hurricane off the coast...

But I like dancing.

He/she lies.

Actually ... if you spend enough time outside, paying attention to the cloud formations, wind directions, humidity levels in the air, and so on, you can get a pretty good idea of what's coming in terms of weather.
