If you ever gave her the chance, kicking your ass.

Is there a "snickering" smiley face?

bdcheung 01-19-09 10:07 AM

I have no doubt that Liz Hatch could ride at least 90% of the snarky responders in this thread off her wheel without breaking a sweat.

Psimet2001 01-19-09 10:09 AM

Heck of a crash. Not exactly fair to postulate about the failure mode of the fork, but it looks like a lot of the ones that I have seen pictures of when they run into something.

Better account of the crash. Including pics.

90% of the BF'ers here could ride me off their wheel without breaking a sweat. So, it's fair to say she could probably coast in front of me. Which I wouldn't mind. ;)

...on her face...

I rode with a very good Cat 2 woman last year, and she was riding as strong as the strong Cat 2 men on that ride. She was by far the fastest female cyclist I've ever ridden with, faster than some pro women I've seen. A really strong world class female pro would pwn 95%+ of amateur male racers. That being said, a strong Cat 2 amateur man can pwn 95% of amateur male racers too, so flip a coin on that one. Whether L. Hatch meets that criteria, I don't know. But she's not hard to look at.

That reminds me of a lanky female that was at our training ride last week. Hung on like it was nothing in the front group, with all the attacks and whatnot going on. She made it look easy while I almost puked a lung.

While she's definately not hard to look at, this bike carnage is a little grotesque.

The details of crash are a bit sketchy. What is known is that Hatch hit the deck at a speed between 25 and 30 mph. The fork on her bike was sheared off, the back of her helmet was crushed, and at first glance, it looked like she was in big trouble.

Poor thing -- that doesn't look good.

I wish her a speedy recovery.

There she is. Up front, gray bibs and helmet.
